One Piece 656 - Adventure on the Burning Island
The cover page continues the Water 7 island features. It seems as though the second sea train has finally been completed. I wonder how Iceburg is doing with the island-ship blueprints of his.
The dragon is as large and mystical as I ever thought that it would be. Oda really did his research on dragons. We find out that the dragon isn’t actually talking but it’s a pair of legs! And the fight against the dragon commences. Usopp and Robin are out of the fight sequence while Zoro shows off a couple of his new moves. Something a little peculiar is the constant mention of the Shichibukai, which implies that the Shichibukai have made a stop here before. Luffy finds a pair of legs on the dragon’s neck and it’s cleaved in two by Zoro. Not before Usopp shows off one of his new plant-based moves. Going back to the mugiwaras that are on the ship, everyone but Sanji’s breathed in a gas that forces them to sleep. Sanji is just about to make the call to the others but passes out right before so. There are four guys in suits that come onto the ship and are going to tie them up and present them to “M.” They mention Sanji, Nami, Chopper and Franky but there is not mention of Brook so I suspect that they just overlooked him. Luffy and company have found a pair of legs and it attacks them a little before running away. Luffy has the “that’s incredible” face on as the chapter ends.
My suspicions are that Trafalgar Law is the one who did this to the pair of legs. His shambles ability is the only one that allows split up body parts to be attached to inanimate objects or just other random objects. It’s also known that his ability allows people to still feel their parts, but don’t know how the legs can talk. But would that possibly indicate that he is the pirate that replaced Gecko Moria? He is the type to calculate his moves very well before acting and he was the only other Supernova that didn’t jump right into the New World. I think we’ll be seeing him a lot sooner than we think.
